Bill Thorne - ABS Journeyman Bladesmith

Originally from upstate New York, I now live in the foothills of western North Carolina. I have a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering and PMP credentials as a certified project manager from the Project Management Institute. I have a well-established career with manufacturing, engineering, and project management functions in the plastics industry.

I have always been a maker of some sort or another, dabbling with woodworking, machining, and CNC's for years. My interests have now moved into bladesmithing. I joined the American Bladesmith Society in 2018 as an apprentice and acquired the Journeyman Smith rating in 2023

I currently continue to do some woodworking projects and also create custom handmade knives in many designs.
